Light up the skies with us! We’re beyond excited to welcome special shape 13 to join the MJ Ballooning collection - the Philips light bulb!
Built by Cameron Balloons in 1995 and registered as G-BVWI, this classic UK balloon is a true throwback to the golden era of 90s special shapes. This unique shape was operated by Virgin Airship & Balloon Company in its commercial days alongside Sonic and many other special shapes.
It’s a complex shape to handle, flying as an active 65 and weighing 210kg, so poses come challenges. The light bulb is airworthy on paper with under 40 hours recorded in the logbook, however we will not be going further than a tethered display due to its age and the perfect conditions it requires. We are looking forward to attending many events with Philips over the coming years.
