G-BVWI Philips Light Bulb Special Shape

Light up the skies with us! We’re beyond excited to welcome special shape 13 to join the MJ Ballooning collection - the Philips light bulb!

Built by Cameron Balloons in 1995 and registered as G-BVWI, this classic UK balloon is a true throwback to the golden era of 90s special shapes. This unique shape was operated by Virgin Airship & Balloon Company in its commercial days alongside Sonic and many other special shapes. 

The light bulb is airworthy with under 40 hours recorded in the logbook and we’re looking into flying it. It’s a complex shape to handle, flying as an active 65 and weighing 210kg, so poses come challenges. In the mean time, we are enjoying some static displays.
