Matt
We really hope all our followers are keeping safe and healthy in these difficult times for us all. This is a quick update regarding the situation of flying hot air balloons in the UK as of late May into June. Whether you're a pilot, crew or just a fan of balloons, everyone is missing ballooning and it's certainly not the same in Bristol without balloons in the sky. Pilots are now allowed to fly with crew from their own households, maintaining social distancing at all times if they come into contact with others. Of course this isn't possible for many people. There is no update on when commercial balloons with paying passengers will be able to fly again as those companies continue to follow Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) and government restrictions. So, it is possible to see a balloon flying or tethered for a CofA inspection (balloon MOT). If any inflation or flight happens in the Bristol and Bath region, we are of course not yet in a position to post anything for obvious reasons. But if the last few months has made us realise anything, it's our passion for hot air ballooning and running this website, and once this has passed we will be ready to go again - bigger and better than before. Stay safe everyone.

It's been a frustrating start to the summer for all of us #AvGeeks. At least balloons can now make the most of relatively quiet skies. Stay safe Matt. Comments are closed.
