This morning the world's largest special shape hot air balloon was inflated in Ashton Court. Owned by Exclusive Ballooning, this giant galleon balloon (G-MORG) was built by Kubicek Balloons in 2013 to advertise Captain Morgan rum. Now with the artwork removed, today's tether was only its second ever UK inflation.
It attended the Taiwan Balloon Festival in 2019 alongside other shapes such as Spongebob, Van Gogh, the Smurf, Hilda the witch and foamy gnome.
Some of you may recall a very similar special shape at the Bristol Balloon Fiesta in 2015; this was G-ENMY, an unbranded galleon with black sails, which also was owned by Exclusive Ballooning at the time.
